    Slightly misleading. The helmet is to protect against shell splinters and explosion ejecta, not small arms fire.

    If I remember correctly, Audie Murphy had no trouble making head shots on Germans with helmets on during WWII with his favorite weapon, the M1icon Carbine. Thanks Rick.

    Interesting --

    I found the uniforms, weapons' effects, and drill very informative.

    However, I'm sure that the veterans of WWII and later on this forum would be howling in laughter at how cooperative the "germans" in the flick were at getting themselves killed -- like marching around with their hands in each others' pockets, not noticing Our Hero sneaking up with grenade in hand, etc.

    The Germans of World War Two were many loathsome things -- unfortunately, this rarely included being incompetent at infantry tactics.

    True but these were training films meant to give a GI confidence in his small arms.
