Is this a proof mark? or? WW1 spanish 455 revolver.Attachment 93621

I'm guessing that it's not Spanish if it is a proof mark. Not seeing that on any Spanish Proof mark list.
I'm wondering if it might be an acceptance mark from some country other than the Brits or Spanish.

I wonder if the Circled CB could be the mark of Carlo Bodeo the designer of the Bodeo Model 1889 Revolver.
Carlo Bodeo was the head of the Italian firearm commission in this time period.
So maybe it's an acceptance stamp in to Italy.

My other guess is if the circled CB has something to do with Toschi Castelli - Brescia, one of the many private factories that worked for the Italian Army.

It is not Italien, Brescia stamped their name on the frame below the cyilnder,
and the Itailen revolver made in Spane is the same as the British .455, except it is in 10.35 Cal.

This revolver has British proof marks corect for WW 1.

Not the same die, but it is my understanding that CB on a Ross rifle indicates Royal Navy issue at one of their land establishments. If this revolver saw British service, perhaps that is a possibility.

Have seen the same marking on S&W Victory Model revolvers & on E Prefix Browning High Powers, I thought it might be a British marking but haven't been able to identify yet
