M82 replica build - ZF69 Scope calibrated for what projectile?
I am building myself an M82 replica, as are a few people, and have got myself a ZF69.
I'll get a replacement barrel, but they'll want to know what twist I want for it. Ive searched but cannot find out what grain the ZF69 turret clicks are calibrated for. I'm assuming around 150-155 grain, but I am hoping someone knows for sure.
Of course, I am presupposing that the ZF69s aren't all different depending on usage.....

If I recall correctly the BDC was for standard 145-150gr 7.62x51 NATO ammo, if there are no letters marked on the turret this should be the case. If the turret has a letter/s marked as well it's probably for the heavier 168gr bullet. Bear in mind that the Kahles was also originally standard fit for the SSG69 rifles so you may come across scopes with a different BDC.
I've got an original M82/ZF69 combo and it's very accurate with 147gr GGG milsurp. I'm away from home at the moment otherwise I'd get some photos for you of the scope BDC markings, etc.
To be honest it shouldn't matter too much as once you do your own zero'ing for each distance with your set-up and ammo, you'll probably find that the clicks won't correspond exactly "per the book" anyway.

Reason: spelling!

The Kahles ZF69 was developed for the Steyr-Mannlicher SSG69. And for this combination Hirtenberger developed an own round which was with a purple head on the bullet. The calibration on the ZF69 scope was designed for this round, which was a 146 grain bullet.
