Is it common for Carcano rifles to be sanded at a refurb arsenal?

Im looking at this Carcano rifle and the finish looks like its original but the serial numbers and Cartouche seem to be slightly faded (maybe from sanding). Is it possible that the rifle was refurbed at an Italian arms plant which is why it may have been lightly sanded before?

Is this a different rifle than from the other thread? Seems the consensus was it was not sanded. Could we see some pics if different?

Same rifle yes. If you look at the serial number one Cartouche, they look faded. Im pretty sure the stock was sanded now, I just want to know if perhaps it was done at an Italian arsenal

The stock was not sanded. Not sure why you continue believing that. Cartouches are not stamped deeply into the wood. Unless it is an unused example, they are going to appear "faded" Years of oil and use lifts the markings up and smooth them out.

No, that doesn't look sanded at all. That looks like the original finish.

Typically the sanded stocks on Italian rifles (post-WW2) appear blondish and contrast with the darker, original finish.
