Type II NM Garand

Picked this up this Type II NM rifle a couple months ag and thought I would share her with you. Shes as nice as they come, appears it may never have been fired and probably wont be while I own her.
Not bragging but this rifle is drop dead gorgeous. I always wanted one of these but never wanted to cough up the $$$. Me and the seller worked out a deal and now I am the caretaker. I wish it would have only cost me what the original owner paid, $152.50

Really nice Type 2 NM, I would not shoot it either. A few years ago I set up a deal for my friend to sell a Type 1 NM still unfired from a doctors estate. You know there are
people that brag that they fire every gun in their collection. and that is their choice but I still think some guns should remain unfired

Very nice...very! Yes, I had a revolver that hadn't been fired and went through the same discussion with a potential lowball buyer who couldn't see how firing something reduced it's value. I told him..."Well you're the only one!"

It's interesting that all T2s were built the same way at SA, but some are just much prettier than others. I have seen a lot of them, and when you get to examine a particularly nice one it's a treat.

And this one is prettier than many. Based on the "Requisition Date" and "Date Material Required" shown on the DD 1149, it looks as though this rifle was shipped to the original owner in Sept./Oct. of 1969. Glad to see it in the care of someone that will take good care of it for future collectors. Congratulations, well done.

Inflation calculator says $152.50 in 1969 = $1061.88 in 2019
I have to remind myself that the steel that I got on my DCM M1 in the 1980s was not so cheap after all.
