First, there is neither front nor rear sleeve in the stock. I don't like that.
Second, although it looks real nice, it is hand made from a very nice piece of black walnut that may not be "stock grade" wood. There are some issue with the grain that give me pause for a '06 rifle. Might be fine for a 30-30 or a 7mm Mauser. But this thing really kicks!
I have to get some sleeves properly inserted and secured, then look at the cross bolt matter.
The swivel hardware, sling, and butt place all looks to be 1940's or 1950's vintage. Real nice workbench job. Kind of has character that factory mil-surps don't have.
Anyway, for what it is I just want it safely working right.
