At least one of the buyers of STB's replica Carbines has been told the stocks, flips, mag catches, safeties, barrel bands and hammers most frequently aren't USGI, but he has ignored the info and bought another since then, leaving glowing feedback. Maybe these buyers are flipping them to a sucker who doesn't know?

I've witnessed a drunk with an insurance settlement (and another with a wife's insurance settlement) buy until the money is squandered.

No idea how it works on GB, but on some auction sites, the description AND the pictures are considered to be the description. So, if the description doesn't say something but the pictures show it and you don't see it, sorry it's in the fine print. Ask questions, evaluate answers or lack thereof, ask for more pictures, review over and over and read the fine print.

Or better yet, take your time, learn everytihing you can, look at it in person. Rolling the dice over and over again may net results sometimes, but eventually the house wins.

Looks like a lot of RBA good ol George parts on the IP. Jim made a very true statement in that this is bad for the whole collecting world. Very sad!

It does not take all that much effort to research a weapon such as this one. Heck, the prospective buyer could join here and ask all kinds of questions about it. Buy some good publications such as War Baby and educate themselves. There is a reason for the old saying caveat emptor.

If you know nothing else, at least look at the stampings on the various new parts. The factory never stamped them perfectly. All of these are stamped absolutely clear and straight, struck well like they were done yesterday and in no hurry. Well, they were done yesterday so that answers that. This is no different that any other fraud, it is just a lot more money. He just happened to have a brand new old stock stock set. High wood and I cut. Like it was never carried, slammed to the ground, dropped, even taken apart and cleaned. What luck.

"What's that a carbine?" "Yes, it is the most rare one made" "It's sure in good shape.." Well I had to pay $10K for it, they don't come along like this very often." "Looks like it was made yesterday.." "When you have the bucks as they say..." "Does it shoot?"
