Just acquired this 1903, should I leave tgecstock alone or?

Give it a drink of RLO/Mineral Turps mix 50/50 and leave it alone as collectors want the patina as its part of the history of the weapon, I collect cartridges and so often see the cartridge ruined where the seller thinks a nice bright shiny one which is say 100 years old must be worth more dollars after being polished like a mirror with Brasso removing its history ??????????????
