Has the sentencing criteria changed recently then, not expecting to see a life term for that?

Thought the norm these days was a wrist slap for the scum and not a lot else....

Was anyone harmed by their actions? What about the **** running around stabbing citizens to death and getting 10 year sentences??? Same s**t happens over here, non-violent crimes net you 20 - life, but take a life and your out in 5. Makes no sense at all...
