Interesting.
Both wearing their splinter pattern Zeltbahn's as well, as camo smocks.
Staged photo I would guess given that the guy in the left background seems to be siting in Feldgrau uniform looking over at them.

I'm sure that that is a still taken from the wartime training film 'I am a sniper'. They were using British
weapons doctored to look like the enemy. I could be wrong. I contacted the British Film Archive who took over all the old War Office training films from the old AKC and they don't have it. Anyone out there remember the AKC....., Roy?

I'm sure that that is a still taken from the wartime training film 'I am a sniper'. They were using
British
weapons doctored to look like the enemy. I could be wrong. I contacted the British Film Archive who took over all the old War Office training films from the old AKC and they don't have it. Anyone out there remember the AKC....., Roy?

I'll buy that idea....very plausible.
Just noticed there's a 4th guy in the photo....centre rear, and while very dark and hidden, the outline of the steel helmet he's wearing looks more US M1
than German

Although given the choice I would prefer Roy's KFC...
