    "...Blue Sky stamp on barrel..." Have the barrel checked. Blue Sky was known for stamping very heavily to the point of damaging the barrel. They reimported thousands of M1icon Rifles and Carbines in the late 80's.
    Old Guns.net S/N lookup says your rifle's receiver was made in 1945. M1 Rifle S/N's don't really tell you much more than that.
