Enfield 30-06 synthetic stock question
I purchased a old Enfield that has a busted butt stock. Came with a synthetic stock. I seem to be missing a piece that goes around the front part of stock to hold barrel in place... What is it called? Anyone know where to purchase ? I'm trying to find a way to post a picture.

I was completely mistaken , hadn't had rifle but a few hours. This is a ishapore 7.62 rfi Enfield version. Any how, it had the wooden handguard above barrel originally, but the synthetic does not.

You'll be wanting the barrel band (inner) . It has a small retaining screw and spring.

Thanks guys! In you expert opinions Is it completely safe to shoot without the inner band? It's only used for hunting, not continuous firing.

It's fine, if you look at most sporters you'll see the rings is removed anyway. It has the two action screws, most sporter rifles only use those two action screws.
