I've never seen a Polish M91/30 PU rifle in person. they are supposedly VERY rare, so I would say more expensive than a Rusian version. Since I've never even seen closeup pictures of one, I can't answer those questions!
Do you have one? Are you sure it's Polish and not Hungarian or something?

Un fortunately I don't believe mine is Polish, but, the base is numbered to the rifle, i.e. the rifles serial number electro-penciled to the scope mount base. The rest of the gun is straight up 1943 Russian sniper. I've been re reading the Mosin Nagant collector series book and when I hit that point where they stated the serial number question, I had to ask. Its been bothering me for some time, I've heard dealers knocking other dealers guns as being Polish! Go figure-SDH

I think Poland did use some Russian M91/30 PU's, but these are only identifiable, as far as a I know, by a Polish produced PU scope being fitted.
As for the mount bases, electropencil would indicate it likely was refurbished as EP on a Mosin usually means refurb.
Some original bases were serialized, some were not. Those that originally were usually had stamped numbers, not EP - But EP WAS a common technique on refurbished snipers.

I'll try to post a pic for you when I get home tonite, Mine may be a rebuild, it's a very early import, well over 12 years state side-SDH

The rebuilds are what most PU's in north america are. the only originals I've seen that aren't rebuilt have been Finn captures and the recent Yugo contract PUs sold without scope or mount.

Are the Yugos Russian built then re-marked?-SDH

Nope, they are Russian built and not remarked. Aside from being from the Yugo contract and missing the optics & mounts, they are identical to a Russian made gun.
