I wonder how many of the chaps got a painful dig under the ribs when they went to the sitting position in a hurry by the bayonets pommel!

Rifles for the next relay stacked neatly behind the group. Guy on the far right looks squared away and comfortable with the position.

Sitting was my most successful position in Basic, don't know why. Critical to get that left arm forward so your tricep is in front of your kneecap, not like the guy 3rd from the left.
Real men measure once and cut.

I did my best seated as well but we were using a modified Indian-style cross-leg position.
