Gentlemen, I need help on serial number search for Remington serial number: 3146952.
Information seems scanty - date seems to be June, 1942.
Thanks, Kab

Thanks, guys.
I also found the different dates. As the barrel is stamped 6 - 2 I tend to go with the RSA date. As I said, information seems scanty.

The Oldguns site is incorrect and should be avoided. (It lists ALL Rem. 1903s as "1941" and ALL M1903A3s as "1942) The RSA and Vishooter are the best places to check. June, 1942 it is.
If you can post some pictures of the rifle, we can tell you more about it, I'm sure. What did you want to know?

They'll be along Kab... Was this rifle a parts gun? Looks like the barrel ring shows polishing and reblue, purple hue...front band looks polished too. Even at the front end the barrel looks to have been spun in a lathe with paper before bluing. Still, I'd have it, love the "C" stocked rifles. How does it shoot?

Great to hear from you. I dunno-bought it from a dealer. Been too cold and too old to shoot it yet. I'll take it apart after Christmas and try some more pics.
