    OK so far, most holes appear round and within what I'd expect to see for fall of shot. I'll be interested to see your later exploits and see how they compare to some of the text I've studied about the inserts.

    It was worth doing too wasn't it? Fun...

    check the grease marks on the holes. I would guess the holes far apart are mostly old ammo and inexperienced first time shooter firing full bore ammo.

    As for the Kynoch ammo...I am assuming it it corrosive?

    The Kynoch ammo is most likely corrosive. It is the main reason a lot of M-10 .280 Ross rifles have buggered bores.
