We had a few stories like that, one man diving into the mud head first and driving his FN into the mud to the gas plug, pulling it out and taking aim...only to be stopped by staff. One woman running down range until her pants fell to her ankles tripping her. She weighed about 250 lbs so...nothing to see here. She was recovered by range staff and led away weeping. Another woman firer falling so far behind that they had all arrived at post while she was at the mid range. She decided that the mid range standing position would do and was about to fire from 50 yd behind the rest...Staff stopped that one too. There were others.

Apologies to the OP, we seem to have wandered off Butt Lengths.
Pete, you and I are in our seventies, soon these old stories will fade as we will.
Maybe we should start a thread specifically about this type of anecdote, so when we are dust, forum members will still get a chuckle.

.
Maybe; but post 22 seems to contain reference to butt width, if that's any consolation.
