We have to settle with Straight pull examples, or those poor quality Italian .22 Semi Autos that look the part, but appear to have the structural strength of warm butter and last about as long too...

Barrel date 2-43 was mentioned as being near the transition from I to Oval cut. Franks being inside 10K of the first reported Oval cut on 229,xxx

When you take in to account that the Inland receivers and SG made (For Inland) receivers were not assembled in consecutive order, the serial number ranges for parts and stocks probably weren't in order either.
Per CCNL 346 there was overlapping use of the I cuts and Oval cuts.
First reported Oval was on 229,293 less than 10,000 from Franks.
Highest reported I cut example 294,488.
Most of the barrel dates reported on 229,293 to 294,488 was 2-43.
Using this pool of reported carbines the 2-43 date may indicate when the Oval cut stocks started becoming available.

This leads me to believe a Oval cut on a Inland 219,xxx with original barrel date of 2-43 is likely original.

Had Frank's 219,xxx been reported on earlier the comparison pool may have been 219,xxx to 294,488.

Had to be an overlap of use with I cuts vs Oval cuts..... As the Ovals became available.
I believe barrel date of 2-43 to be key.
