    Update!

    Gentlemen,

I have decided to keep the Enfield as it was purchased. It is in perfect condition (aside from the sporterized stock) and has all matching parts. Believe it or not, the stock was cut and refinished quite well. Brought the rifle to the range and shot it today receiving 1.5 inch groups at 75 yards with 1954 FMJ british ammunition.

The K98icon I have decided to fully restore with period correct original parts. The first (and most important) part I have already found is a duffle bag cut stock. Lots of character in it. Cleaned up the stock and polished all metal parts (every last screw) with light oil and 0000 steel wool. A good start...

Let me know what you think and provide tips?
    Max
