He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose
There are no great men, only great challenges that ordinary men are forced by circumstances to meet.

BCOF included Royal Marine Commandoes from the British
Pacific Fleet. One of my now long deceased mates, Pat ('Spuds') Murphy was amongst them. They ended up being despatched to Korea and a number of his mates and he were captured whilst serving along side US Marines during the Chosen Campaign. I lifelong member of the Bamboo and Barded Wire Association, he had a permanent dislike for all things Chinese, and steamed rice when served to him went straight into the bin.

Some things are never forgotten. A local cop was assigned to direct traffic at a busy intersection during rush hour... every day an old man came to the corner and just watched. One day an Asian driver in a Toyota stopped by the man, rolled down the window, and asked, "How do I get the Route 80?" The cop nearly collapsed when the man shouted back, "You didn't have any trouble finding Pearl Harbor, find it yourself!" LOL
Real men measure once and cut.
