Chinese Inglis Hi-Power with ROC Property mark
Hello,
I found an old thread from long ago about a fake stamped Chinese HP. I have this one and it matched the pictures from what I can tell. The "BROWING-F.N.....CANADA" has much bigger font than the four others I can find online. The Chinese "中華民國國有" doesn't seem to be the same. The stroke lines in the characters on mine is different with the other four (all of them seem to match themselves).
The serial on the slide seems to be stamped instead of engraved.
I have a few days left to return this, would you all recommend it? Thank you all.

Thank you #1oilman for your response! A friend had one and the font size on the English part is the same larger size as mine. He told me mine should be fine also.
I guess the Chinese can have variances because of the way how one person may have engraved it and what kind of engraving plate he has to do it?

The receiver, slide, and frame have the correct numbering on them. If the price isn't that bad I would keep it. Not a Hi-Power that easy to find. JMHO

Agree it is the real deal. It also has the II stamped hammer and I doubt anyone would counterfeit a Hi-Power to that extent. How much are they asking for it?

Thank you all for your responses. I paid about $2500 for this. If it is a fake, they made good effort on this one..
I friend showed me one of his that shows the English with larger font size as mine. The Chinese still have a bit differences, but when comparing to the 4 examples I found online, it seems mine is off a bit, but still 90% the same, I guess thats the differences in engraving part. Another friend has one with Chinese lettering, but in the CH9000 range. I thought it was high for it to still have the Chinese on it? It seems there are so many variations and inconsistencies?

I think you'll find Inglis stamped S/N's not engraved. Dunno about the font thing. I did see pictures that showed 'em bigger, but that may be the picture.
Spelling and Grammar count!

Wow, you are 100% wrong.
Inglis serial numbers are engraved.

Not only were they engraved, but Inglis used a pantograph to do them.

In service we used to engrave them too. But, I suppose out in the ulu where there were no engraving facilities someone might stamp - carefully!
