Frankford Arsenal 1960 Match 30-06 - Misprint Box
Ran across this in my most recent "stuff" buy. Opened and empty, unfortunately. But check out that misprint -- the eagle isn't in the right place.
Kind of neat so I thought I'd share.
I wonder if it carries the same value as misprint currency
Attachment 100580
EDIT: Actually, I guess the "MATCH" isn't in the right place.

Considering all the weird stuff people collect(like dinner plates and Coke bottles), it might be worth more to an ammo box collector. Wouldn't think it'd be in the same class as misprinted money though.
Joe Salter shows an empty Peters .303 Savage box he thinks is worth $60. Marstar lists several empty ammo boxes at ridiculous prices too. $60Cdn for an empty CIL Canuck shotgun ammo box. So who knows. Suspect it'd be a case of finding somebody who wants it and will part with money for it.

Joe Salter has an interesting pricing structure on a lot of his stuff. I haven't dealt with him and I'm sure his stuff is top notch so I'll just leave it at that.
I have a little shelf by my computer I keep knick-knacks like this on. Some stuff really catches my eye so I have to hang on to it.
This piece will be happy right there. The colors are great, the picture is cool, the misprint just adds intrigue.
I bet you're exactly right, though. Some collector would probably jump on it if I looked hard enough.
I paid $30 for the lot this was in. It had a full box of 38 special, a full box of 30 Carbine, a carbine piston wrench, some 22 CB caps, and other assorted stuff. So, yeah, I think I did OK on that buy haha.

"...think I did OK..." I'll say. Cost that much for 2 boxes of Tula Carbine ammo.
"...if I looked hard enough..." It cot anything to list on one of the auction sites? I have no idea.

Not really. I’m quite positive it wouldn’t sell on GunBroker (collectibles don’t sell there...guns are even hard to move right now) and I can’t sell on eBay anymore due to PayPal restrictions.
So I’ll happily just keep it haha
