Did this guy in the description happened to mention factory ammo or reloads?

I see boxed FIOCHHI (sp?) and I believe Aquilla (sp?) sorry about the spelling I've never used either. Not sure if new or reloaded.
Noticed after the very first shot that the brass looked pretty sooty..... but so do my 296 loads.

At that distance, I thought he was doing pretty good for off-hand - kept those (2) steel targets swinging! Couldn't read all the distance markers, but must have been at least 50 yards, maybe 75? Using a 400K Inland with some later features, I believe. - Bob

It wasn't until I went to a full screen view to see the rear sight setting after Jim mentioned it that I seen the plates. I believe I heard them ping a couple times.
But my hearing isn't up to par after years in the trades.
Worst.... stupidest thing I ever did was sneak up on a ground hog in one of the horse stalls that was between the inner stall wall and outer wall. I leaned over the inner wall looking at him from behind with his head up looking in to the stall. Took my .357 and shot him in the back of the head. The report instantly put me to my knees. Absolute True physical pain...... like I would have never imagined.
One of those.... Glad no one was around to see that dumb A$$ move. Now when I say 'Huh' to something the wife says and she complains I need to get my hearing checked, I just tell her she mumbles.

I think of that 'barn shot' when reading about the bombing in WWI and WWII that the troops would have to go through. Just the shear number of rounds being lofted or dropped was so staggering.

I worked on a Mosin with a sticky chamber for a friend.
Thought I'd fire it "just once" to see what it felt like opening the bolt. Fired that M44 from the hip and it was an immediate, intense ringing.
"Just once" was got-dang right.
Can't imagine what it wouldd've been like during/after a real fire fight.

My monitor barely shows the swinging targets he's hitting but he was doing good with the Carbine. Loudest thing I've fired was an AK with muzzle brake. It was loud with ear plugs.

As for ringing, Try an AK 74 with surplus ammo!

Add a muzzle brake and reassess for increased amplification.

I have never noticed that my AK is louder with a muzzle brake. It would make sense though since some of the vents on the brake are pointed back in the direction of the shooter somewhat to counteract the recoil forces. I have the meridian defense bd2 brake on my slr-107r . AK variants are indeed loud even with earplugs. Next time I take her to the range, I'm going to take a few shots with and without the break. I don't know about sound differences, but the brake sure does help with follow-up shots on the AK platform. My AK is a totally different animal without a brake

The terrain could have been contributing too. Where we shot that configuration was against a ridge with houses behind us. Haven't shot them anywhere else.

Try a 444 Marlin 336 inside a single cab landrover lwb ute had the half windows out needed some roo meat for the dogs spotted him in the crop stopped the ute motor off leant against the drivers door still inside the vehicle swiveled so I could lean against the door on the inside sitting quite comfortably left foot up on the gear box arch puuurrrfect dropped the plex on his chest and let drive. 2 things happened instantly all the red dust in that cab became airborne you could not see out of the passengers half window, secondly I went instantly deaf with pain with a loud ringing in my ears which took @ 3 hours to abate I could not even hear my wife speak when I got home. Got the 'roo so the woofen barkers were pleased...........
