Pound cake came in a shorter can. As said before it could be "Beanie Weenies" or some other scrumptious delicacy or even a can of fruit.

I can't say that I have ever heard the term "Lema Bean" in the UK
but looking on google it would appear to be the same thing as "Butter Bean" which I have heard off.

Going off thread a bit, your link woke dormant memories, not that I ever ate C rations but the comments in the article could just have easily referred to British
rations of the 70s and 80s. Just to prove how sad I am, I still have around 6 or so of the P38 can openers. Wouldn't use anything else to open a can.
