Hi Wayne,
I have pictures of 2 T3 SG housings currently locked up in photobucket. Both are original finish and both lightly stamped in that vertical position. Thats why I took pics of them, up until then I hadn't seen any SG's stamped like that until getting those.

I see the stock's wrist area has been sanded quite a bit. A .U. rebuild stamp in front of the stock serial #. So we know this one went thru the post WWII late 40's rebuilds, then made its way to I believe Israel years later.
But I have NEVER seen a serial # stamped on a Receiver Ring....... Has anyone else??
