My 3 digit local prefix starts with 291, once I started getting scam calls starting with that prefix, I blocked all incoming calls starting with those numbers. There are prolly 250+ blocked calls from that prefix in my call log. If someone needs to actually get a hold of me they know how.

I'm going to burn in hell but it's worth the laughs we get.

Have they threatened to send the police round to your "gaff" to arrest you, yet?

I am an I home care giver for an elderly grand dad, I have to keep him on his 83 year old toes about these guys. The rule is any one calling with an Indian accent is a scam and hang up. He was taken for $600 some time ago but I wasn't here at the time. A second time i caught him on the phone trying to install a remote access program but stopped him while he was on the phone with the scammer. This scammer had a pair on him because he called back three times a day for three days trying to figure out when i wasnt home to try to get grand dad on the line.
Most recently they said they were Comcast Tv / Internet provider. Their line was that some one was gaining access to my wireless and downloading "troubling ir ree gal things and if i did not give him remote access then i was going to jail for the downloaded content. Much to his surprise my response in Hindi about his mother summed up what i thought about the situation.

"...just put the phone down..." Suggest you hang up first. There such a thing as the "Do not call list" in England? Doesn't help ending the unsolicited calls, but it gives you a place to whine to. Been getting Robo calls for months wanting to sell me vacation time. Bell Canada got fined $2 million Cdn. a few years back for unsolicited calls. Drop in the bucket but the calls stopped.
"...using/stealing local phone numbers..." They use dialer computers using unassigned numbers.
Spelling and Grammar count!

Yes, here too.
He's wrong about unassigned numbers (Canada), they use numbers that belong to people currently. I once returned a call from a scammer and got a nice little old lady. I told her that she had people using her number for things... Also the do not call list he speaks of is garbage and does nothing, so disregard it. I paid for call blocker for hidden caller ID for a couple months until I found it did nothing so I stopped hat too. If you don't answer hidden caller numbers they will eventually stop. You don't miss anything either.
