There are always 2 sides to every story; actually 3: both sides will say why they went to war, then the victor will have their say. None of them are completely right, nor are they completely wrong. For instance, Japan went to war because of economic strangulation by the US. Germany was suffering from the depredation placed on it as a result of the surrender in WWI. Every side committed some atrocities. Look at the fire bombing of civilians committed by England and the US. War is caused by politicians, not by the people. Neither side is innocent. Both of you guys are correct in some respects and wrong in others. The more you study the causes and political climates the more likely you are to realize that it was the politics of the time that were the cause. The end results were the politicians trying to retain power and control of their people. No matter how you look at it it was a shameful episode for mankind.
