Lost and now found.
Kinda neat so thought I'd share. Pulled these out of a Browning Auto 5 buttstock today.
From 86yrs ago, 1933 and 1935 Missouri hunting licenses stuffed away in a lightening hole.
Thomas is the first name but I can't make out the last nor his address.
Mike if you read this, this is the stock Brett dropped off.

Looks like the address is 9713 Lackland. That would be in Overland. I’m practically neighbors with this guy!

I googled that address and a historical log cabin comes up. How cool it is to be able to look around in virtual reality. If only I could have a beer with this hunk of walnut to discuss it's journey from St. Louis to Philly over the past 86yrs.

If you use a bit of steam, these will lie flat and then can be pressed to near perfect...or are you going to put them back? I worked on a '94 Winchester Carbine, eastern carbine that is...and we found a hunter's Novina under the buttplate. Once the carbine was done we replaced it and told the owner.

I'll try that Jim, thank you. I'm going to mail them off to rcathey and was thinking how I could do it without screwing them up any more. Thomas crumpled them up and shoved them in there, he didn't roll'em or fold'em just shoved them in.
This is a Fun show vender gun so it's only inventory to him. With some luck maybe this thing has a connection to the historic cabin at the said address.

I'll do my best to dig something up! I may just end up taking them there and see what they have to say.
I'm ashamed to admit I've never visited the cabin but it looks like a neat place!

$2.50 to Hunt and Fish......... With no strings attached IE: Trout/salmon stamp.... basically all the extras they hit you with now days.
Here in Michigan your broke by the time you get your licenses in order.
To think about it..... Post depression, $2.50 seems pricey.
I found a dog tag dated early 40's under the buttplate of a old SxS years ago. Still have it, assume it could have been the ole boys hunting dog.
Warpig- Nice find !

And I thought the K-31 troop tags were a time capsule.
That might just be one of the coolest things I have ever seen.
Keep us posted please.
