At least some of those in the 2nd box appear to be for checking the accuracy of the chamber diameter and taper on Carbine barrels.

Those last two are chamber gauges for the front, middle and rear of the chambers. They were used on barrels prior to mounting in the receivers. Chamber diameter is just as important as chamber length i.e. head space. The bottom one is for checking the throating of the chamber.
When they tell you to behave, they always forget to specify whether to behave well or badly!
