Hi there. Unfortunately the stock ferrule is not meant to be take out. When it is installed the small internal piece is flared out on end making a flange on both sides holding each circular piece in place. While it is difficult to work around it, it would be much harder to remove it then try to reinstall it and then have to peen or flare either end of the ferrule again. i ran into the same problem but i came up with a reasonable work around. get the heavy duty painters tap at the hardware store. cover the disk in the stock with it and then with a razor blade, very carefully trim away the access. repeat this until you get three or 4 layers of that heavy duty painters tape over the top of the disk. with in reason you can sand or scrap around it with out worrying too much about grazing the metal pieces. its a little difficult to sand through 3 or 4 layers of painters tape with out realizing it. for oil that has seeped in around the stock disk, get some stuff called " Barkeeps friend." its a white cleanser powder. mix it into a paste and paint if around the stock disk then let it sit over night and it will drawer out the oil/finish from around the disk. Hope it turns out well. best of luck.
