Periscopic Prism Co Scope London
Good day all
I happened to run across an interesting rifle telescope in a local gun store yesterday.
What caught my attention was that the scope was broad arrow marked and of vintage design.
Unfortunately the scope was not accompanied by the rifle but it was in relatively decent shape with a post and horizontal line that was able to be viewed clearly through the tube. Front and rear claw mounts were still on the tube with the whole optical apparatus seemingly pretty viable for use with some maintenance.
Anyway I found an exact representation of the same scope here on the site and found it was exactly like the one depicted in the Knowledge Library
as - (Pattern 1914 Mk1* W (T) Sniper Rifle)
The scope was also numbered along the bottom edge of the turret, had brass appearing through the finish no dents scrapes yellowing chips in glass etc.
I wanted to post this info here in case the item could be useful to someone who was looking for such an item.
Thanks~Brian

Sounds interesting, pictures, price and location would be a help...

How much was it? Worth asking lots of questions as the rifle may have been in the collection or estate and not been recognized as related to the scope.
Nice of you to offer, kudos!

Purely by good fortune I was on the forum within minutes of Brian posting this thread. I also had need of a Model 1918 scope. I asked him if he would help me buy it, & he very kindly did, so I'm sorry to say that it's no longer available. Brian & I agreed that I would make this posting to let everyone know the situation, as I gather whilst I was lucky enough to be the first, he has had a number of other pm's asking about the scope (quite understandably, under the circumstances). My (sincere) apologies if I got in before anyone else who had taken a fancy to it, but it will be going to a good home, I promise!

At least it is in really good hands!
Would you mind letting us know if it is a truly PPCo made scope, or one made by BSA? And maybe the rifle serial on the tube, could be that the rifle is still around!

Hi Promo. It is a WW1 era PPCo made scope rather than a later BSA, but I'll let you know more when it arrives & I can have a good look at it.
