Recently spotted a No.32 scope being used in one of the original Star Wars films.

It was carried by a Stormtrooper on a rifle and apparently its called the RT-97c Heavy blaster.

Curious to know if this was already common knowledge, and if so how many scopes are lost to these props?

I have found a couple of pictures and its interesting to see its still using the original No.4 mount.

As an aside, the scope on the regular Stormtrooper blaster rifle (the one based on a Sterling SMG) is from some sort of WW2 tank I believe. I friend of mine found one in his collection and not needing it put it online and it went nuts, about the same price as a no32 at the time.

There is a programme on the making of Star Wars and all the weaponry, and how they got to use SMG's in the way they did and how they camouflaged them up to look a bit snazia.
On BLAZE channel I believe I saw it.
One man with sticky plumbers edging for baths and sinks stuck all around the stock covering up the traditional holes as shown below on the two images.

It is common knowledge to some of us, but still interesting. Many years ago somebody produced a resin copy No 32 scope just for Star Wars collectors/Re-enactors.

An original Lightweight German WW1 Hensoldt military sniper scope of which No 3T PPCo scope was based on was also atop Han Solos Blaster.

The SMG sight I believe was from Sherman Tank.

What grinds my gear is the folks who join the gun forums just to buy original parts to make Star Wars items. In the past I’ve posted on various gun and aviation forums about the Browning Mk2 .303 guns. I’ve had literally dozens of emails wanting to buy my gun or asking if I can get them the muzzle booster as it was used on Luke’s light sabre and they want to make replicas using original parts. Some even lie saying they are firearms collectors but a quick search of their email or forum name usually finds them on various forums searching for parts to make Star Wars items.

I did manage to buy myself a very nice Star Wars magazine bag off eBay last year which could imply that I am a great Star Wars enthusiast/collector. Actually I am not, I had just happened to be scrolling down through the pages of eBay when I noticed a Yugoslavian M56 leather spare magazine bag that appeared to be in good condition but was listed as "Star Wars. As it hadn't been altered in any way, was in good condition and the price was right I purchased it.
