Punch staking on flips was done two different ways. This picture shows one way. The other way was with the point right on the line between the side of the rear sight and the lip of the groove. It usually made a divot in both the edge of the groove and the side of the sight. In either case punch staking was fairly uncommon with flip sights.Information
