I did have one that was externally similar but different inside which I eventually broke up and reused the wood. It also had similar end handles and markings and I think that mine may have been East Germanicon. I expect that many of the Eastern European states used similar ammo boxes during the Cold War period. I would say post WW2 and perhaps 1960's or 70's.
