The number on the wrist doesn't appear to have a prefix, it is just 5 numbers. The scope tin shows the number 13328 which I am led to believe is a genuine number from Batch 50 from Jan 1972.
If that is the rifle number then it would appear genuine.
The sidewall shows it to be an ROF 1944 rifle.
Unfortunately he has neglected to take photos of the important parts!

He also has a No.4 MkI T for sale as well looks very nice . The l42a1 looks like the ones sold by Navy Arms back in 1994 or so . The cleaning stick is home made .the lens cleaning brush is one the owner purchased in a craft store .
