What BAR says. I had a 7.65 m.1922 with a shortened firing pin, it mal ejected as you have described.

Replacement of the firing pin resulted in a properly functioning pistol.

Also had a Browning with dirty cosmolineicon grease in firing oin channel. This one merely required detail cleaning to solve the problem.
