eBay "freeze ups"
I wondered how many other people here have instances of quietly minding your own business, browsing eBay, and then all of a sudden, out of the blue, and without warning, your whole dam computer freezes solid? It's only happened to me while browsing eBay (UK
) and it's extremely difficult to do anything, even shut your computer down.
Almost nothing works and as I'm not a computer expert I found that I've had to resort to my solution of last resort for such situations with I.T. problems, namely try pressing various keys, in various orders and in various combinations until I find something that works/happens. I don't recommend this solution to anyone else but it's my solution of last resort.
Once I've finally got the computer to shut down and then restarted it, all is normally well. In such situations I always clear my browsing history.
Looking online, it would seem other people have had various forms of screen freeze while using eBay.
All that I want out of eBay is a simple boring place where I can easily buy things online and sell a few odds and odds that I no longer need in an uncomplicated manner. I don't expect to have to be a Software Engineer/I.T. Consultant to use eBay.

Could be many different problems, but "CCleaner" is a decent freeware utility that will clean up a lot of the most obvious junk that accumulates. Will also clean up your registry.
It's worth learning about basic router and internet security. The people who service computers have no incentive to tell you how to avoid having to hire them again and again to fix largely preventable problems.
I've used this program for years with great success and minimal cost. I use Windows7 and the lack of future updates is irrelevant: one reboot and problems solved.
Like many of the best ideas that threaten "stakeholders" it is largely ignored in the mainstream, but the corporate & institutional clients obviously know what works.
Windoze10 is probably no more secure than Windoze7 and why bother to learn to navigate around a bunch of crappy new interfaces for no real gains?
The privacy state of Windoze10 is comical, when not simply creepy.
Welcome to the brave new world!

Ebay is my friend. To say I'm on it almost constantly when I'm at home in the evening would not be an understatement. I am constantly doing searches while I watch TV. I have never had a problem with Ebay like you describe. I don't even have worries about getting last second bids in anymore. Only issues I have with bidding happen when my server craps out which happens several times a day and is extremely aggravating.
You may need a new virus guard or something. Sounds like you may have something going on there.

What default browser are you using? Google?
I had problems in the past accessing eBay via Google as the default browser, changed my eBay access to being via MSN, no further issues.
