I undertand when the Danes made the barrels they used Springfield blueprints. They converted the inch data to metric data and used the tighter range of metric measurements in the manufacture. They ended up with a very nice barrel. Also made on new tooling and no hury up job, either. Among the very best military Garand barrels ever made.

I was lucky enough to pickup a new VAR barrel at the Louisville National Gun Day show couple of months ago. I had it mounted on a 5 digit SA receiver which I had parked and intend to make a shooter out of it which also is a pretty good looker.

I have a 11-59 VAR barrel on a 6 digit Danish return and it is my best shooter. MW=1.75 and TE=2.50. Groups 2" @100yds all day long. I'd hang on to it!!
