It's getting pretty bad here in Michigan especially in the more populated counties around Detroit with 6,218 cases... 327 deaths. County wise... Wayne 4,321 cases..... 282 deaths.
Oakland county 4,511 cases with 282 dead. So as of the 3pm update today Michigan has 22,783 cases with 1,281 dead. Makes you wonder how many haven't been diagnosed yet?
Currently our Woman governor has us shut down til the end of April. Wonder who threw that dart at the calendar? Same one that yesterday started a Virus Task Force to look in to Racial Disparities. I guess the long lines of traffic looking for food for their kids will have to wait!
Now many are heading to their upstate cabins and cottages trying to get away from the bigger cities. This has made those who live year round 'Up North' upset, tensions and trouble is brewing as we now see the numbers are climbing in the upper rural areas. It's making it harder for smaller grocery stores up there to keep stock. And much harder on the EMT, Police and smaller hospital/clinical centers. Fewer Doctors and nurses up there.

It's just my Wife and I here at home but we have to be very careful because she has a weak immune system from her meds for Crohns and Parkinsons. She is trying to be strong but in the 40+ years we've been together I've never seen her this shaken.... except maybe after a car wreck I managed to survive back in 1985. Her Mother is alone 91 years old and fighting Cancer, living 20 minutes south of Detroit Metro airport in Wayne county in a small town called Flat Rock. Since the lock downs my Wife has been talking with a counselor once a week on the phone. It seems to give her some peace of mind... even if just for that day, so thats a good thing.

I still had a partial pallet of 3M #8511 N95 masks for pro/commercial work stored away from my working/spraying days. I was able to donate about 2,500 to our local EMT, FIREMEN and POLICE. I sent 3 boxes to my Daughter and 4-1/2 year old grandson out in DC and 3 boxes to my son and DIL here in the central MI area and some to my neighbors on either side.

Still been pretty chilly here but near every day I walk out back and fire off a few magazines from the dock in to the river bank or topple over a few of the dead standing trees. No one behind us for 5 miles, so I'm safely directing my fire. Thats my therapy and I must say it seems to help.

2 days ago I found out my closest cousin was admitted, tested positive and put in ICU. Today we found out he is now on a ventilator and that his Mother (my Aunt) was also admitted along with my cousin's grown Daughter and step son. So much for thinking things may be getting better.
Plus in 2 weeks will be 1 year since I buried my Mother.

I have a lot of shooting planned.

Be safe all and God Bless,

I recon that I must have had some sort of premonition of the UKicon lockdown being announced because I made an appointment with my dentist just in time for an extraction of a wisdom tooth. I should have had it pulled out last year but I've been putting it off and putting it off for months, putting up with the pain, and hoping that the tooth would put it's self right. Within about a week my dentist had closed it's doors due to the lockdown. The worst part of the visit was the bill.

I noticed a piece on Sky News on Good Friday of what looked like to me as a Turkishicon Airforce Airbus A400M landing in the UK reportedly as carrying P.P.E. for the N.H.S.. Sky News described this aircraft, in their report, as a "Hercules" aircraft which it didn't look like to me.

You and your wife stay safe and warm, good on you for the donation of the N95's. I happened to find 4 in my workshop which I am grateful to have.

The stuff we are seeing from here with the happenings where Ovidio is, the U.K Gil & F10 & others finally the U.S.iconA you are all copping a pasting like I said before our isolation is our blessing in a sense it can work for & against us.
Today the stupid news on 7PLus put out a report that the Covid - 19 was being eliminated here in Australia, holy cr*p what a stupid thing to say when people are just accepting the lock down to say that now we could be faced with a social discord of people going well they have it under control why do we have to isolate, this is what I have been rabbiting on about bad press feeding the masses SFJ's.
    Like the masses you will never change the "Dullhead" bird that in a book I read once on buddhism and loosley translated says this;
'The dullhead is never at the front lest it be asked to lead, nor is it to the rear where it may be left behind, it stays in the middle surrounded by its brethren but is always destined to be controlled by the multitude around it."

We have had 89 new cases in Au so its not stopped but like I said our isolation has helped us keep a relative handle on it.

So we are watching our corner, keeping clean and tidy, cooking up new recipes, Oh! I gotta tell you this you will p*ss yourself sorry if this is a bit long, a friend drinks tumeric and honey so I looked it up and the herb along with honey has some very good properties but only in warm water for the honey not steaming hot anyway this is what I did.
I measured out a teaspon of Tumeric powder (Like you cook with) into warm water, got out some natural jarrah honey on a clean teaspoon 1 tsp into the tumeric & warm water mixed it all together then started to sip it, gawd it was absurdly horrible tasting and gritty so I swigged it all straight down saying to my wife I do not know how my mate can drink that sh*t..........
Next morning at 05:45 I asked him "Ray how do you drink that, how much tumeric do you put in." he said "Why!" so I told him what I did he nearly fell of his chair laughing, he said you effing nutcase its a tea bag my wife buys Tumeric & Honey you dont mix the powder & honey raw like that! Doomass!

Hey Charlie ~ I hope your family stays as safe as can be in these times which for all of us will affect us in different ways. however I will say losing your Mum or Dad or close relative has a profound affect on you, I know we are all marching towards that line I mean everytime I climb on on that damn V4 Ducati the devil takes over but I live to ride another day.

Great now China will buy all the orange farms in the world, think I will rely on what our Australianicon medical teams come up with.

This morning we had a rough wake-up call.
One of my wife’s brothers, still living with his mom due to heavy health problems, yesterday went to his local hospital for a visit. Tested for Covid, he was found positive...
My mother in law (83) was very sick and with fever for at least ten days two weeks ago, but was treated with antibiotics and not tested.
Now, probably, we know what the old lady had...
The problem is that Adele’s brother was the one going out shopping etc.
Now they are all getting crazy to trace his contacts, but in two weeks, in a place crowded as the outskirts of Milan...
What makes me very sorry is that Adele is very close to her mother and, living almost 400 km apart, she now really feels somewhat impotent helping in any way. The good thing is, if her mom really had the damned CV, then she beat that bast’ard, and should now be safe.

On my side, today I took out a nice Galician steak for this evening. Installed a new swingset on one of our trees, had a couple beers and a glass of wine, listened to music, wondered when those pricks governing us will deem it necessary to follow some democratic rules and at least discuss in the parliament what they are doing and why so.
Unbelievably smooth how Italians gave up their freedom...
Makes me think and consider getting somehow “prepped” for possible future similar situations...
Ah, and I looked for a nice SVD40. I found one close to here for 500€ with a repro optic on.
What do you fellow collectors think about such a rig? Shall I abide or not?

Would be just over $762. CDN right now. That's a lot but considering it has a repro optic means it has the sniper set up...so maybe it's OK.

The models said PA would peak at 36 deaths per day, well we had over 100 yesterday which shoots that theory down. The problem is, they are labeling things Covid even when they know they weren't Covid now. 2 deaths in a county near where my parents live were listed as Covid and the staff knew it wasn't Covid. So there's that.

We now have a live update of every available hospital bed, ICU bed, Isolation bed and ventilator in the state available to look at. We aren't anywhere close to capacity anywhere in the state including Philadelphia.

At the National level, it is looking like end of April will be the opening of at least parts of the country. The media of course is arguing against this, they act like it means going back to normal. They call it the end of social distancing. In reality, there is not reason to end social distancing at all. Just open the businesses back up, end the stay at home orders. People can continue to wear masks and social distance and be aware of their and their coworkers heath and act accordingly.

The "newest" controversy and I use quotes because it's a never ending controversy here and I'm somewhat amazed it took this long before it came up is racial disparities in infection and death rates with minorities. The claim as usual is that blacks and Hispanics are being discriminated against in treatment thus leading to more deaths. The reality is minorities have a higher percentage living in close quarters in the major urban areas and they have a much higher rate of obesity and diabetes than the rest of the population.

And you have to love New Yorkers. Samaritan's Purse, a Christian organization run by the son of Billy Graham set up a mobile hospital in one of NYC's parks. Immediately the LBGT crowd started complaining and making demands because this group "would turn away anyone who was gay" and "refuse them treatment" when they would never do any such thing. It's so bad however that NYC obliged their concerns by sending someone to monitor them to ensure they wouldn't. It's ridiculous.

New York is finally starting to come down in numbers so they are past their peak. Numbers remain over 700 deaths per day which remains well above expected daily deaths.

It never stops amazing me how in America we let the minority dictate how we the majority live. They have the majority so afraid to speak their minds, they have taken our 1st Amendment rights away by proxy.
