Welrod mk2 .32 acp
Need help. Looking to buy this but know nothing about the welrod.
My concern with it is the crudeness of the star. And from other examples, I’ve seen it seems the serial number is upside down. Can anyone help with this ASAP. Basically what things do I need to look out for. The serial number in his is 00105
Thanks

Not an expert, but that was what it looked like. It looks unused.

Looks right to me too, there can't be too many around. Here's some comparison... sabotage

But what about the star. Looks really badly done. The example you sent has a clean star. And the serial number is upside down

Agreed but our ruler here is short. These aren't common and the one I sent I think is different caliber. If you hang on, there should be others along. Maybe someone in the USA
owns one...

K, my mistake. Here's a thing though... Welrod - Wikipedia
It just seems that someone on site had one some time back...maybe down in Texas? I wonder if I can find anything about it. I THINK it was also brand new so it might not help us. Markings wise...

Sounds about right...
Found the thread regarding a member here with a Welrod, it's a new model. Doesn't really have much to do with the old one so no reference there. Here it is...

It’s my gut feeling that this is a repro, someone in Europe was making these to original specs and were fully functional. Some were imported and deactivated and offered on the collectors market. I would research extensively before paying for an original and receiving a repro. There are dealers out there who sell knowing and some that don’t.
