Value of last ditch Arisaka Toyo Kogyo Series 35
Hello Everyone! I'm a new member and very impressed with all the knowledge available here. I found the site doing research on an old rifle my WWII vet uncle gave me many years ago that I stored in an attic all these years, but just found again. It probably needs a good cleaning. I never knew its very rich history until now. I'm hoping to find out how much it may be worth. Can any of you experts help? Thanks in advance and God Bless all the Vets -- Freedom isn't Free!
Here's a description list with photos:
Arisaka
Type 99 (Toyo Kogyo) Series 35 rifle w/ Full Chrysanthemum a/k/a Last Ditch 7.7mm, 26” barrel.
All rifle Serial Numbers (Early 1945) match on barrel, bolt, receiver and extractor.
Bayonet type 30 w/ straight quillon & squared pommel w/ independent serial number from rifle (apparently, all had different numbers from rifles) with Howa Jyuko (under Nagoya supervision) Arsenal Marks. Blue steel blade is sharp.
No Monopod, dust cover or anti aircraft sight came with this series.
2 piece wood stock, front and rear sling swivels and issued bayonet. Nothing was added or changed.

I'm sure it needs a good cleaning! It hasn't been fired, used or cleaned in 75 years.

That bayonet can run up to $250 by itself.

Not that one. The bayonet is very common, and the blade has been post war sharpened (look at the grind marks).
The rifle is a nice representative of the 35th series. As far as value goes, value is based on condition, condition, condition.
