Do you imagine what this is?

Apart from being a horrible picture, this is almost freedom!!!
I took it while walking at full speed, one hour ago, at night in the farthest corner of our community territory.
I could have done this each and every day during the lockdown, no one goes there, especially at night. No risk, no virus, no nothing. But it was prohibited.
Now, I can do it again.
What makes me angry is that, although I’m still locked in my community, these few kms make me feel free.
Losing freedom goes fast, my friends, incredibly fast.
This might be the most important lesson I learned these days...

If the government can take away your ability to feed your family, travel, peaceably assemble , worship and make you wear a mask government has too much control.
Those of us who are aware know the next step.

Our golf courses opened yesterday also. The rest of business isn't though, my gym for instance. No word on when they'll settle down here.

Gives a taste of how the ancestors lived for millennia Oviodo: in those little walled towns that look so charming today, never wandering too far afield and always on the lookout for bandits and slavers.

When the shepherds have been bought or chased away, donkeys are quite sufficient to lead the flock. In fairness to the donkeys they do share with the wolves and vultures; though once they have led the sheep to the place of slaughter, history shows the wolves and vultures have no further use for donkeys except as carrion. Poor donkeys; they felt so important on the way...

“There are invisible rulers who control the destinies of millions. It is not generally realized to what extent the words and actions of our most influential public men are dictated by shrewd persons operating behind the scenes.”
Edward Bernays, 1928
Much changes, much remains the same.

I’m a bit tired...psycologically tired...
I keep telling people that I don’t want to be treated like a “minor habens”, like a poor idiot who needs guidance. Like a kid.
I’m a grown up man, at the verge of old age.
I keep saying that I don’t want a government, any government, but particularly one made of epic idiots, tell me to stay home.
They must tell me what the rules are, if I have to keep distance, how much, where and how, and I’ll do it.
But I’m a free man. FREE, GODDAMN IT!
Who the hell is that frigging mr. conte (no capitals for such people), not elected, who tells us on on Facebook!!! how free (if any) we are, who keeps changing rules, opinions, provisions... who keeps creating such a confusion that people are starting to get desperate.
I pay your pharaonic pay, mr. conte!
I worry for new business, new customers, for exporting our machines and contribute to Italy
’s wealth. You don’t do dic’k!
You waste our resources. You humiliate who wants to work and has ideas.
You protect the parasites and kill the assets of this Country.
I want my rights back!
Well, maybe you hear and read that the situation here is improving.
Medically? Maybe. But in the rotting heart of Europe, ideology, partisanship rules.
I have the strong feeling that the government is trying to keep us all humble, quiet, passive.
The new rules for the so-called phase 2 are ridiculous.
I could be producing silicone di’cks, but if I can keep safety distances, sanitize the factory, respect all rules, why on earth should I stay closed?
We’re losing an impossible amount of GDP, but the government just doesn’t care.
They just add bureaucracy and obstacles.
The rest of Europe is acting and we’re blocked by idiots who never worked one frigging day in their whole lives.
And plenty of people say that it is right.
But if you want to learn how a democracy can be annihilated, here you have an example.
Today, I kept thinking about a quote from Benjamin Franklin, which always fascinated me.
Now I truly understand it: Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.
Good night my friends...
Maybe, one of these days, things will heat up a bit here...

Don't loose heart Ovidio, remember you started this group therapy session that's kept a lot of us sane for these many weeks!
At least there is a glimmer of light on the horizon, apparently the vaccine being developed here is looking very promising and we seem to be going down the other side of the daily depressing death toll finally.
Fingers crossed, we have seen the worse of this in Europe and I sincerely hope things improve for all in the weeks ahead...
The loss of life and economic damage will leave a lasting presence for years to come, but we will prevail and move on in the end.
But, just look at the hardships our parents and grandparents went through, real hunger, massive loss of life and terrible destruction.
If they got through that and picked themselves up, we can certainly can through this guys...

Agree totally.
It’s not the disease that makes me mad, it’s the idiots treating us like mindless kids.
That puts me in a terrible strain.
I don’t want them to deprive me of my rights if it is not necessary. They must decide what the rules need be and leave us alone.
Most people have already shown that they are better than the donkeys ruling the country.
