One of my shooting mates, a Colonel in the Army, today sent me a message that is worrying me a bit...
I send him an article of a very smart Italian historian and intellectual, who writes that the situation is at the limit, that people are upset, scared and angry, and that there are signs that things might go south quickly if the government keeps being so grossly incompetent.
His words are: If you see them raising our pay, start worrying.
I must call him this evening and ask him if he was joking or not...

I think thats probably right. But unless Marilyn Monroe comes along I don't intend cuddling ANYBODY as close as I used to anymore. I used to shake hands and I always thought I was a roughy toughy, but when I see the amount of guys go into toilets and not wash their hands afterwards, that can go to in future

Now, back to business.

Three big news.

1) the government did relent and had to bow to the regions. They are telling the story that it was a long discussion, hard bargaining and at the end they were all happy to find an agreement. Truth is, the government suddenly found itself "surrounded". All regions and all productive categories told them they were killing the economy. So, in the end, a few rules less (we're still full of exceptions and stupid rules, but it is definitely better than before), social distancing at 1 metre for all businesses, not 2 metres here, 1.5 there, 1.2 over there and 1 over there instead... I have re-rated the word "expert" in my own dictionary!!!

2) I can go everywhere without any reason within my region now. One of the coming days I'll take the day off and have a long motorcycle ride up and down the Alps. We have enough mountains to be able to stay within Friuli and still have tons of fun.

3) the ranges have opened again starting from today. One of the next days I'll take another half day and go shooting. I feel the need for that exercise in concentration...
