Went out to our military Paton range today . Five of us social distancing until it got hot , then we were all under two 10 foot shades . Shot out to two hundred yards , plinking mostly . Tried some 100 yard and 200 yard with my Colt Defender .45 , but I was tired by that time , only hit the "D" target at 100 4 times out of 8 and the full size at 200 were all near misses . Early on I took them on with my Browning 1911-380 Compact and was getting 2 or 3 hits out of 8 on the hundred and usually one a mag on the 200 . That was great fun and relaxing for all watching , who would have thought it was that accurate ? At 15 yards offhand cloverleafs was the rule . Temp was about mid 90's when we left at noon , but expected to be well into the 100s Monday and 115+ by next weekend . That will prob'ly put an end to our shoots till fall . Gun show first week in June is still canceled .
