Just want to clarify a few things about the US as far as I can tell. Cases are increasing dramatically. That's what everyone in the media is reporting. What they are not reporting is that testing is being done at a massive rate compared to when this all started. Hospitalizations and deaths are both in decline and have been for some time. There is no lag time or correlation between the two other than what President Trump has said. Increased testing has increased the number of positive cases. The percentage of positive cases out of all tested is also declining. There is no horror story here other than that which the leftist politicians and their media allies are telling. Our dictator here managed to do what I knew he would and get the state supreme court to side with him over the legislature. This will have to go to the federal supreme court. They now instituted mask wearing for all activities in public but have no way or intention of enforcing it so it's mostly being ignored. I still do not know a single person personally who has contracted the virus. No one in my extended family does either. The mass hysteria going on about all these states with massive increases in numbers of positive cases is partially true. But again, the testing has increased dramatically, these states are no where near the levels of hospitalizations or deaths as northern states yet people in some of these states are stating they are glad they don't live there. Case in point Pennsylvania's death rate per 100,000 was 54. Texas is 8, Florida somewhere around 12. Only Louisiana is higher at 61 and Mississippi is the next highest and is half Pennsylvania's at 27. Meanwhile, the United Statesper capita deaths are much lower than most of Western Europe's. We have a huge population, are testing now at a massive rate but as far as I can tell, this has been under control for well over a month everywhere. New York's governor has the gall to insist on quarantining people coming in from other states now when he had a fit when other states were quarantining New Yorkers back when they were the center of the entire virus in the US. New York States death rate is double the worst in Europes, Belgium
. But even there, the virus seems to have run it's course. Something like 5 new deaths per day.
I saw mention of someone saying the feared the death rate in the US is four times the released numbers. On the contrary, they are probably half the released numbers as they are attributing everything they possibly can to covid 19. People who died in car accidents, had heart attacks and have even been shot have had covid listed as the cause. We are sick and tired of it here. This has simply become a political football with the Democrats trying to extend it and milk it for all they can while Trump ties to get things running again. Unemployment is dropping, Jobs are increasing, spending is increasing, the economy is starting to roll again. The riots are simmering down, actually haven't heard anything about them for a week now. Mayors have been forced to take back their cities because their attempt to get Trump to do it for them so they could attack him for it failed miserably and in Seattle, they were coming for the Mayors house so she was forced to act. They are now starting to make requests to the federal government to bail them out of the disaster the riots they failed to control caused. Not sure how that will go but they did not pay for the riots in Baltimore, I don't see Trump doing it here either. He told them to take care of it when it happened, they refused, they in fact encouraged it, backed the police out and left them go. Idiots.
So basically there are several distinct camps. The largest is probably the one I belong too. We are listening to instructions and following them as we please and ignoring them as we please but basically following them more than not. The next largest groups are those that simply refuse to follow any instructions and get angry when they are called on it and those that are sheep following every rule because they are convinced they are going to die or kill grandma if they don't. Then there are the young people that simply stopped caring and are now hosting covid parties to see who gets sick first. Wouldn't surprise me that this group is made up of the protestors trying to destroy our history. And then there are the blacks, caught in the middle, suffering the most as their neighborhoods are the ones that got destroyed and they are also deeply divided. Many follow the sheep way of thinking while others are staunch defenders of our history and culture. something called the 1619 project which is a complete rewriting of history into something it never was that has fired a lot of them up on both sides.
In any case, my day today was yard sales in the morning with not a single host household wearing masks, most "shoppers" including myself and my wife not wearing masks, and only a few wearing them. One woman screamed at us from her car to put our masks on at one sale. A trip to Walmart had most including myself wearing them, some with the nose uncovered and only a couple not wearing them. A later visit to the farmers market had more mixed results. Outside only a quarter were wearing them, inside only about half. The Mennonites and Amish were less than 10% wearing them. I wore inside but not outside except when going from building to building. Social distancing is declining in all places. Where people once made it a point to stay away, now they will brush right past you without thought. They took away nearly all our public fireworks celebrations. People are not happy about that. So our 4th celebration, a celebration of independence will be celebrated as dictated to us by the most oppressive state governments we have ever had in our nations existence. And sadly, most people seem to be content with it.
Gun and ammo sales continue to skyrocket.
So still somewhat hard to tell what is going on but truth is very elusive.Information
