A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. I was able to get hold of the original drawings, not perfect, but near enough to work from.

I produced new drawings from them and had a CAD file done producing 3D images and some CNC computer files.

The brackets arrived with me today, in the white but phosphated. They appear to be spot on, they match and line up with an original bracket in every way. I had 10 made.

Just waiting to try one on an L42 on Wednesday (because mine is in storage), then they will be advertised for sale.

It was a fun project which worked out much better than I could have hoped, and flash to bang time was 11 weeks from idea to finished articles.
