Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

I have written to e bay about Bidders Identity being kept private that they have as I said it only encourages shill bidding I feel if people are uncomfortable with being viewed in bidding well stiff cheese go elsewhere but of course I am just a bottom feeder why would e bay listen to me and so it goes on. You've got it right Alan.....

I know running bids up goes on, but if it has happened here the seller will have to think pretty creatively to come up with a convincing story that explains two apparent sets with a hole in in exactly the same place!

yes, another issue is that it is a pain when you bid against friends ;-0 - although I figured people were following my bids sometimes too...
but I am glad that epay went to masking bidders ID - I know at least 3 people who got scammed by "second chance" type offers -and emails that the "high bidder didn't pay"...
scammers were "spoofing" the epay sellers ID and harvesting bidders contact info...
for REAL money

Ebay doesn't hide bidders ID's ... it's up to the sellers to sets up their auction listings this way.
Also it is very easy for a winner not to pay... they just don't. Not much a seller can do if a winner never pays or replies to inquiries.
As for not wanting to pay the price of a second chance offer ... well why did you bid that amount in the first place...
As in everything else in life there are good and bad people (good and bad buyers, good and bad sellers).
When i feel a price is too much i just walk away and never look back ... another one will come along eventually. A bidder is never forced to bid...

I know its up to the sellers I wanted e bay to remove that privilege from the web site it may not stop it entirely but will at least put clarity into the system there are some sellers I buy of pretty regular and then you get a seller of low feedback selling something unique that hides bidders.

And i don't disagree with you, personally i like to know ''who'' i am bidding against.
At some point i was buying a lot on EB and i was starting to know some of the bidders by their nicknames, their preferences, their monetary limits and the number of bids they would go up to.
It helped a lot, sometimes you had an idea to continue or not even to try to bid at all.
Much like a live auction house.
But EB only cares about EB ... they don't give a rats a$$ about neither their sellers nor their buyers.
Most of their system is run by computers.
I wrote to them once, about a ruling i felt was unfair and after exchanging with several different person i was plainly told that the computer had made the ruling and there was nothing he could do to change that.
Their is no arguing with them, reasoning with them or suggesting with them.
Don't get me wrong, i think it's a great way to reach out all over the world or finding treasures ... but that company is not user friendly,
