It really is which is what ticks me off so much about this. I don't normally grind the pitting off bayonets but I'm sorely tempted with this one. They have a slightly rough finish to them anyway, wouldn't be that hard to blend. Not doing it now but I have been thinking about it. This is by far the best blade I have on a Japaneseicon bayonet.
