Lance, that's a great collection. I have a couple of .22 SMLE's. one is a Lithgow from 1946; the other is a 1918 peddled scheme rifle by SSA.
However this rifle does not carry the normal .22 stamps on the wrist.

It looks like a solid .22 barrel, not tubed.

Interesting rifles your SSA might be military or civilian. There were military contracted conversions that were not marked, for example, all the AM s/n'd rifles (Air Ministry some have thought).

You will not regret buying a .22 SMLE. They are so much fun to shoot. Even my 9 year old daughter loves shooting them
