And a mini 14 would be too simple for you. I have a Remington 700 heavy barrel for that, and if we get them back after election my M4gery.

I'd love a Mini-14 but the prices have kept me away, I'd rather have a mini-30. I would be more apt to go the Rem 700 route as well, bolt actions are my first love.

My Rem-700
My APRS blue printed G series custom Rem-700 ceracoated with heavy fluted 26" match grade Keiger Bbl 1-10 Twist, Wild Dog stock, Basix trigger, NF 15-55 Competition scope. With the load data APRS supplied I have not changed it one bit with the 168Gn A-Max Hornady. The DOPE charts I have for it are 20 degrees C and 40 Degrees C from 100 - 1000Yds in 10Yd increments with this load & scope it will do .3's and less at a 100m if I do my bit.
This was set up by the Sniper cell Team leader from Perth TRG at a 5 day shooting clinic I attended with him.
Biscuits was ever the optimist thinking he was coming to the range as well..................

Forced to lay out my pair of 700 Remingtons, top is 5.56 and used to be a 26" bbl had it cut to 20". Lower is the .308 and it was a trade for a Remington 870 7 shot standard...straight trade. New rifle at the time had just been blueprinted and the guy didn't want it. I put the glass on it...

$1.00 seems i little high, maybe a so cal thing.
.223 in concord bay area is .55 per round as of last week.
Good luck on reloading if you can find primers at a reasonable price.

At this point they can easily be had in quantity for say, Remington @ $35 CDN per thousand, worst case is a bit more but under $50 per thousand.
